Viljoensdrift near Robertson hosts the Seagull Outboard Regatta weekend. Friday 16 October: bring-and-braai from 18:00. Saturday 17 October: races at 11:15 and 14:30, with boat registration from 07:00. Boat entry is R650. Robertson’s municipal pool in Dirkie Uys Street has reopened. Hours: Monday–Saturday 10:00–18:00; Sunday 12:00–18:00. Admission is R43 per adult and R29 per child; monthly tickets R347 and season tickets R588. Children must have responsible adult supervision. AWS bursary for 2027: deadline extended to 16 October
The AWS Skills Development bursary deadline has been extended to 16 October 2026 for 2027 funding. This is a separate programme from the Amazon Recruitment bursary. South African citizens may apply. It covers listed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, with undergraduate eligibility from first to final year. Supported fields include computing, IT, engineering and specified commerce programmes. The official page also gives separate provisions for students with disabilities. Selection considers academic merit and financial need, with priorities for students with disabilities, LEAP-school students and former AWS interns. Funding has limits and can include tuition, accommodation, subsistence, books, stationery and a computer.

Host unemployed youth with DEDAT stipend support
Registered Western Cape employers can apply to host unemployed provincial youth aged 18–35 for workplace placements lasting three to twelve months, or up to eighteen months in artisan fields. Langeberg Municipality announced its Local Government Academy on 23 September. Its notice describes free, self-paced online learning for municipal employees and members of the public, including entrepreneurship, personal finance and wellbeing.
